LASTMA DENIES IMPOUNDING OBASANJO’S JEEP

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has debunked the story, which had been making the rounds for over a month that it seized an SUV belonging to ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo.
The story went round that Obasanjo made several attempts to get his SUV released, but his intervention did not yield the desired result.

The rumour spread that in retaliation, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo ordered his aides to impound the Lagos State owned public transport buses known as LAGBUS plying the Lagos/Ogun route.
Peddlers of the rumour said that Obasanjo confiscated 20 LAGBUS buses, and kept them at the premises of his Obasanjo Farms in Ota, Ogun State, southwest Nigeria.
“We learnt Obasanjo took the action after officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA impounded a sport utility vehicle, SUV, belonging to Obasanjo Farms in Lagos,” the media report said.
In an interview, an official of the state Ministry of Transport, who craved for anonymity, said that there was no iota of truth in the story.
She stated that LASTMA officials did not seize Obasanjo’s SUV, and that the former president did not seize any Lagbus.
“There is no truth in the story, we did not seize any vehicle belonging to the elder statesman and he did not seize any of our buses. We don’t even know where the story came from. There is no LAGBUS in Obasanjo Farm,” she said. -Yemoja News

  1. I see nothing wrong in impounding Obasanjo's Jeep. He is a Nigerian and as such if he or his workers contravenes traffic rule should not be spared. We are in a democratic rule so every1 is equal and must respect the law
