Jealous ex-girlfriend sets boyfriend's girlfriend ablaze In Enugu

Tragedy occurred at Onugba Nike area of Enugu State on August 24th, after 20-year-old Cynthia Onah, out of jealousy set ablaze another woman, 22-year old Chinwe Igwe for snatching her boyfriend, one Chika Kelechi.

According to reports, Chika and Chinwe who had dated each other for almost five years, had a misunderstanding and stopped dating each other.Chika later met Cynthia, a prostitute and they started dating. But after a month of being together, they too had issues and split.Along the line, Chika got to meet his former girl Chinwe. They got to reconcile and started their love life all over again.Unfortunately, Cynthia wasn't going to let them be together.Cynthia Onah reportedly threatened  that she would never leave Chika for any other lady. She  threatened Chinwe, warned her to stay away from Chika.When Chika and Chinese continued their relationship, on that fateful day, Cynthia and another suspect, one Obiora Chukwuegbo stormed Chika’s home at 11:30pm with a gallon of fuel, emptied its content  on Chinwe who was already asleep and set her on fire. The Assistant Commissioner of Police, State CID Enugu, Mr. Philip Ogbadu told Sunday Sun that they have been able to arrest the three suspects, Chika Kelechi, Cynthia Onah and Obiora Chukwuegbo  and that the case is still under investigation.The boyfriend told Sunday Sun :

42 die, 100 missing in River Niger boat mishap

 A boat mishap has occurred on the River Niger close to Malilli village in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State, claiming no fewer than 42 lives. It was gathered that the 42 were passengers on board the ill-fated boat drowned, while 100 others have been declared missing.
 The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the mishap occurred about 2 pm last Friday, quoting the Public Relations Officer, Niger State Emergency Management Agency, Malam Ibrahim Hussaini as confirming the incident in a telephone interview yesterday.Hussaini said the incident occurred about 2 pm when the traders were returning from Malili village to Tunga Illo village across the River Niger, after the day’s market. He said the details were sketchy, but the boat, which had over 150 passengers on board capsized midway.

But this three represent the smart and intelligent students who chose the media as a form of expression other than violence/crime. WAKE UP is written and directed by Chudi Leonard, a young and ambitious filmmaker who strives to make a statement in the Nigerian movie industry. Odera Orji, Eddy Osas and ofcoursehudi Leonard starred iin the film.. Body of decomposing two-year-old baby exhumed in church premises

A pastor (names withheld) is currently cooling his heels at the Homicide Section of the state Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Yaba, Lagos, after a decomposing body of a two-year-old child was allegedly discovered within his church premises in Egbeda area of Lagos.The cleric was reportedly caught while burying the dead child in a shallow grave in the church premises.It was alleged that the said clergyman was caught by a neighbour, who had gone out to ease himself at 2am, weekend, while he was digging the grave.

According to NaijaTidings a girl cut her friend who is also her neighbour with razor blade on Tuesday at Inikpi street, High level, Markurdi ,Benue State after she learnt she was sleeping with her sugar daddy. The story aint clear but eye witnesses at the scene said the lady learnt her friend whom she introduced to her sugar daddy went behind her back to sleep with him and snatched him from her. She went to confront her friend and things blew out of hand, while exchanging words her friend called her mother a prostitute and that’s the aftermath.

Nobody delivered baby on board our flight – Arik

Arik Air has debunked claims by a section of the media that a woman gave birth on board its flight from Lagos.
In a statement released by Arik on Monday explained that contrary to claims that the pregnant woman gave birth aboard the flight on Sunday, the woman only suffered a miscarriage.
The statement signed by Arik’s Public Relations and Communications Manager, Mr. Adebanji Ola, also stated that the woman in question was 12 weeks pregnant.The statement said,

A meeting between the seven governors of the new Peoples Democratic Party faction, and members of the House of Representatives has ended after fighting broke out.The governors, alongside the chairman of the faction, Abubakar Baraje, met first with senate president, David Mark.A follow up meeting at the House of Representatives with Speaker Aminu Tambuwal, and members of the House, degenerated into chaos with supporters of the Bamanga Tukur-led PDP jeering at remarks made by Mr Baraje.The chaos soon escalated after two members, Dagogo Peterside and Henry Ofongo, from Rivers and Bayelsa states respectively, went up against each other.Mr. Baraje told Mr. Mark that President Goodluck Jonathan must give up his ambition for a new term.

An elderly military couple married at their veterans home yesterday in the center's first gay ceremony.95-year-old World War II veteran John Banvard, married his partner, 67-year-old Gerard Nadeau, who served in Vietnam. The two have been together for 20 years, but had to wait until the recent Supreme Court decision to legally tie the knot.

They moved to the veterans home in Chula Vista, California three years ago and decided to hold the ceremony there, among their friends.The ceremony was small and simple. After exchanging vows, the two men were sealed with a kiss.
 Their ceremony, however, wasn't completely welcomed by the rest of the home's residents.
Someone even contacted the Westboro Baptist Church, a notoriously anti-gay  group in Florida, in hopes that they would get the ceremony moved off the property.
